The Good
Sugardaddie.com had a clean design and simple interface. It was very easy to navigate.
Their website stated:
This is respectable when you consider that most dating sites automatically renew paid memberships.
Note: Some sites only mention automatic renewal in the fine print (buried somewhere in the terms of service) so read those contracts carefully!
There was an option to turn off email notifications, which was nice (especially considering the nature of the site).
Women outnumbered men by 2.23 to 1 in May, 2008. These are decent gender odds for the gentlemen (but not so good for the ladies).
The Bad
The clean, simple design is partially due to the fact that the site seemed to have very few advanced features.
Lack of “feature creep” is generally a good thing. Unfortunately, Sugardaddie.com felt old. It may have a tough time competing against similar sites with a more robust set of features and modern interface.
The Ugly
Registration was required to view prices. Why would a site trying to attract wealthy men play games like that? Their subscription fees were cheaper than all of their competitors. Why waste our time by requiring registration to learn that? Hopefully Sugardaddie.com will learn that time is more valuable than money and their price point is nothing to be ashamed of.
Worth Visiting?
Sorry, but not for me.
Frankly, I found much better profiles on OkCupid.com (a 100% free site).
If you are looking for a “wealthy” dating site, MillionaireMatch.com looked like the better deal. Subjectively speaking, MillionaireMatch.com seemed to have higher quality profiles. Objectively speaking, third-party web stats in May suggested that people spent more time per visit (viewing more pages per visit) on MillionaireMatch.com than they did on this site.
Worth Subscribing?
No. While “no automatic renewals” was very respectable, I felt that other dating site options gave better value for my time and money. Also, I prefer not to do business with companies that require registration to view price.
